Tampines West-Pasirian (TW-P) Floorball Club

Our History and Key Milestones

  • The Pasirian Floorball Club was founded in year 2000 as part of an alumni to Pasir Ris Primary School. The players initially consist of ex-students of the school and they train regularly in the school hall in the evenings and on weekends at least twice a week under the guidance of Mr Shahizan Ahmad (HOD/Coach), Mr Kasim Karib (Teacher/Coach) and Mr Ngasti Wanto Zakaria (Coach).
  • There is also a steady increase in the number of new members joining the club over the past few years who are not ex-students of Pasir Ris Primary School. They are currently studying or working adults. The club has also accepted good players who have transferred from other local floorball clubs as well as recruiting foreign players from Finland, Switzerland and Malaysia.
  • Over the years, the club competed in several floorball tournaments and carnivals at the National Level. Both the Men's Team (Pasirian Hitmen) and Ladies' Team (Pasirian Scheqaz) are playing in the Singapore Floorball League (SFL) since 2004. In 2008, the club registered another Men's Team (Pasirian Pirates) to play in the newly formed SFL Div 4 league. Table below shows our overall placings in the SFL:

  • In collaboration with Tampines West CSC, the club had successfully co-organised the record-breaking and probably the 'World's First and Longest Floorball Match' from 31-Dec 2007 to 1-Jan 2008. The same feat was repeated and another record-breaking 'Floorball Marathon' was achieved as part of the New Year's countdown from 31-Dec 2008 to 1-Jan 2009.
  • As of 14-Sep 2008, Pasirian Floorball Club has officially formed a partnership with Tampines West CSC to develop and promote community sports, particularly in floorball. The club is now called Tampines West - Pasirian (TW-P) Floorball Club. Tampines West CSC shall provide necessary support and funding to the club to prepare for SFL Div 1 in 2009 and onwards.
  • The 2 teams representing the club in SFL Div 1 2009 are now called TW-P Hitmen (Men) and TW-P Orebro (Ladies). TW-P Floorball Club currently has more than 90 registered players (55 male and 35 female) ranging from 12 to 23 year olds training at Pasir Ris Primary School or Tampines Sports Hall.
